"Hey Jude ... take a sad song & make it better!" - the Beatles

My goal is to turn my disabilities around to abilities using art therapy as a means of stroke rehabilitation on my hands & arms. I want to also use cards to spread kindness, show different fun card techniques, bring awareness to issues that are important to me, and to just spread joy in general!

Dog Card Series (2) - Gift Stamp Set

I received this wonderful gift in the mail from my friend April - it was the best kind of Happy Mail because it had craft items related to doggies and to Gorjuss Girls - gotta love that!!!!  So, I wanted to use the stamp set she sent and the beautiful wooden stamp with the paw prints in my dog series because they just make me happy.
Dog Card Series - Two - Gift Stamp Set

I don't have a lot of wooden stamps, but I can honestly say that the majority of the wooden stamps that I do have are related to dogs in some way or another because I like to use them as decorations in my craft room as well!  With that said, this paw print set, with the main part of the paw being a heart, fit in perfectly!  Then, the additional stamp set she sent had some adorable little dachshunds included in their cute little outfits and some perfect sentiments related to dogs that I just had to use.
Background created with wooden paw stamp

With the first card I used the wooden stamp as my background and used my Stampin' Up ink in blue to get a beautiful design all over the card.  I also used embossing ink and gold embossing powder to have some of the paw prints as embellishments at the end of the design.  I added a piece of blue card stock to the center of the card and then stamped the cute sentiments on the velum piece and rounded that out with the Memento brilliance pearl blue dew drop ink.  I then created a banner piece with the wonderful sentiment from that Paper Smooches Adoption set that I adore.  It says "Adopt, Foster, Transport, Donate, Volunteer" - absolutely perfect and exactly what is in my heart.  Finally, I added the gold embossed paw prints to finalize this cute card.
Supplies used for dog cards

For the second card, I used a green card base that I created from some Simon Says Stamp green apple card stock that I got in one of my Simon Kit of the Month kits.  I then added some patterned paper from the Doodlebug set that is devoted to dogs.  I love that little patterned paper set!!!!  The blue paper I chose has little paw prints all over it!  Cute!  I stamped the two dachshunds with Avery Elle Truffle ink and then colored them with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers (TN3, TN4, CR1, DR1, DR5, CR4, CR5, CG1, CG3).  I had them face each other and look as if they were kissing.  I then added a sentiment square from the paper pack and some Wink of Stealla to brighten up the dogs.  Finally, I added some small sequins to give it some bling.  Adorable!
Kissing dogs - adorable!!!!

I appreciate you being here and taking time out of your day to spend a little time with me.  I hope you have an awesome day and give your pup - or a shelter pup - some love today!  Jude  :-)
