Hey Jude Cards: On Dasher, On Dancer ... On Buster???!!!

Hahaha! I loved these little doggy reindeer! They remind me of when people put the little costumes on their dogs for Halloween! I try but mine don't like them too much. They look at me like "Mooooommmm, why are you punishing me like this?!!!" I saw this little stamp set from Your Next Stamp and it just made me smile! Of course, anything doggy related makes me smile but combine dogs and the holidays and I'm beaming ear to ear! I can just hear Santa yelling, "On Dasher, On Dancer, On Comet, On Blitzen ... On Buster, On Kasey, On Bailey, On Cooper"!!! Those are my doggies names by the way!

Doggy Reindeer card with mini stamp set by Your Next Stamp

So cute!!! Reminds me of when doggies are dressed up!

So, I started with the little stamp set from Your Next Stamp and stamped it on some Simon Says Stamp white card stock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then colored it in with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers (I have the colors pictured below). I wanted one of the doggies to be brown and one to be gray. I then used some paper from my recent card kit from Simon Says Stamp and cut it in half and folded it into a top folding note card. I also used the stamp set from the recent card kit - Merry and Bright. I stamped the little presents and the tree and then colored those in as well. I used my tape runner and some foam tape to attach these to the card base and then used some glossy accents and some wink of stella to jazz it up a bit. I accidentally grabbed my black wink of stella so one of my presents ended up black! But, it was sparkly and shiny so that is all that matters! I also used some gold Stickles that I got from Michael's for the star on the tree. It was a very simple and fun card that just made me happy and smile. What more could you want?!!!

About Me

I have always loved cards and have forever been known as the "card lady"!!! However, only recently have I had the privilege of learning to love the art of card making, planning, and all things crafty. This is due to having to find a means of rehabilitation for my arms & hands after suffering a stroke, followed by a TIA a few months later. I was tasked with choosing therapy to regain strength and use in my arms, so I chose card making over standard therapy so I could do it from home. I was already doing speech therapy from home as a result of the stroke so I thought this would be the thing for me. It turned out I was right!

A little about me personally -- I have mentioned that I am a stroke survivor, but I am so much more! I am a happy wife, a mother of four older children and a mother to four precious furbabies. I previously had a long successful career but am now disabled. I now focus on the joy in life as much as I can. Oh, and in the girlie arena, I am a girl to the core! Makeup, shoes, fashion, books, snowglobes, magazines - all girlie kinds of things are my jam!

I am an avid rescue animal supporter - most especially pitbulls - who I believe get a bad rap and are misunderstood. They are pretty much judged before meeting or knowing them or before having had a chance for them to show their worth --- much like many groups are nowadays. I truly want to make a difference for their innocent spirits and for those other groups too, if I am able. Every little bit helps - one small step at a time. :-)

We have all been through so much in life and there is just too much negativity in the world. I am hopeful to be part of a kindness movement and to take my second chance - my "sad song" that was made better - and share that kindness and joy with others. And, if we change some minds about not judging a book by its cover, about looking at the core of someone/something's soul for their beauty, and about reminding people every chance you can with every means possible that they are special and they brighten your day, then we are on the right path.

Maybe we can help them not carry the weight of the world on their shoulders. Will you join me?
