"Hey Jude ... take a sad song & make it better!" - the Beatles

My goal is to turn my disabilities around to abilities using art therapy as a means of stroke rehabilitation on my hands & arms. I want to also use cards to spread kindness, show different fun card techniques, bring awareness to issues that are important to me, and to just spread joy in general!

Halloween Videos

I uploaded a couple of final Halloween videos to my YouTube channel.  I really did them just for practice on editing and stuff - working hard at learning that and getting better at it.  Hopefully there is some improvement!!!

The first video features the Hero Arts stamp that I love "Love You to the Moon and Bat" along with the Wild Rose Studio intricate bat die.  Visit Hero Arts here.

The second video features Gerda Steiner Designs "Bat's Halloween" stamp set.  I just loved the sentiments in this set along with the cute bat and spider!  Visit Gerda Steiner Designs here.

Hope you have an awesome day and thanks for visiting!  Happy Halloween!  You are BOOtiful!

Stampin' Up Haul - Fun, Fun, Fun!!!

I have a little Stampin' Up haul for you.  There is lots of fun stuff included in this haul - I was just so excited about all of it.  My favorite thing from them has got to be their paper - it's fantastic!  They have great paper packs and their patterned paper is fabulous too.

This haul is cumulative and it was a bit ago as I was saving it all until my husband set up my craft room and I actually felt well enough to get in there and do things but I still wanted to get this up to show you the fun and awesome supplies.  Hope you enjoy!

Simon Says Stamp Halloween Kit - Fun!!!

I recently received the Halloween Kit from Simon Says Stamp - well, I received it a while ago, but was too sick to work on it (grrrr!!!).  Anyway, I finally got around to unboxing it and doing a few projects from it and I loved it!!!  My favorite thing about kits in general is they are great stash builders for new crafters/card makers.  You get a lot of bang for your buck!  So, you get to make a few Halloween cards from the kit (or you can make a ton if you want) but then you have pattern paper leftover, Nuvo crystal drops, sequins, ribbon, stencils, stamp set, etc., to use again and again!  Awesome sauce!

I did a video unboxing with a couple of projects at the end.  I think I am getting a little better at the videos finally (yay) - the only place to go is up!  Thank you so much for visiting and, if you haven't already, please subscribe to my channel on YouTube, the Hey Jude Cards Instagram, and the blog.  I appreciate you greatly!

PS  Great news - my arms cramp up less and less as I continue this journey!  Yay!  My hands still "freeze up", but we are working on it.  It causes a lot of pain up to my shoulder and head the longer I work, so I have to limit it, but we are moving right along.  Woop Woop!

Pitbull Thank You Card

I have a video where I created a thank you card for a friend and used a new stamp set that I have that is all pitbulls!!! I love it so much!  You have no idea how happy this stamp set from Jessica Lynn Originals makes me!  I love all animal sets (they are my favorites) and especially dog sets, but I have been on the hunt for a pitbull set forever!  You have no idea how absolutely difficult that has been.  This one is truly gorgeous and I can honestly say that it will be my most used set and is my favorite of all that I have!

This thank you card is even more perfect because it is in response to a gesture from a friend towards my animals and she also has pitbulls!  See - PERFECT!  I have also already used the set for a sympathy card for a friend who's pitbulls were the victim of foul play by humans (disgusting) and have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.  I hope the card heals her heart and brings her a little peace.

That is what cards are for - bringing your love, your hugs, your heart across the miles to those you love.  That is the difference a card can make in a persons day.

I hope you have a good day and remember to be kind to yourself and be kind to animals.  Jude  :-)

Unity Stamp Co. Haul

I have a small little haul for a stamp company called Unity Stamp Co.  They were new to me and I was very excited about all of their cute stamps!  I came across them during a big sale (Yay Me!!!) and I loved so many of the stamps that they had, it was just so hard to limit myself.  I'm usually a clear mounted stamp girl, but I do like the red rubber stamps as well - especially the ones I received from them.  As I mentioned, these are the red rubber stamps and are extremely high quality.  I so love what they say, I love all types of girls represented, and I even love the little "cheeky" ones in the "after dark" section (18 and over!!!!).  Sometimes those are the most fun cards to receive - a little laugh in the mail!

Here is a link to the company (again, I'm still working on my individual links and things - thanks so much for your patience).  Enjoy the video and have an awesome day!

Love You to the Moon and Bat

I did a couple of Halloween cards the other day and had some fun with ink blending.  I used the Hero Arts "Love You to the Moon and Bat" stamp on one of the cards along with the Wild Rose Studios intricate bat die.  The card base was on Simon Says Stamp copic friendly paper cut in half and made into a top fold A2 sized card.  I used some pattern paper from a card pack I got from Michael's and die cut it with a Lawn Fawn cross stitch rectangle die in the 4-bar size.  I also cut the copic friendly paper with a circle die from Sizzix and then ink blended with Tim Holtz distress inks blenders and inks in Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, and Squeezed Lemonade.  I added the papers to the card base with a Scotch tape runner and added the Bats to the card by making stickers with my small Xyron sticker maker.  Finally, I added some sequins from the Lucy's Little Things Hocus Pocus set with matte multi medium glue.  I also made a second card with the same set except when I distressed the moon I added water droplets from the Tim Holtz spritzer to give a different effect.  I also used glitter paper and cut the base a bit differently for a different effect.  These are fun little cards that makes me happy!!!

Next, I made a little card with the Gerda Steiner Designs Halloween set titled "Bats Halloween".  I love what it says, "I Bat You Didn't Know.....How Much I Love You!"  Just love that!  I made this card in the same way, with the same materials as above, except I used some specialty velum from Stampin' Up.  I also added some Wink of Stella in black to the bats to give it a little bit of sparkle.

Hope you enjoy!  I'm working on learning how to link to all of the items individually as well as to my Stampin' Up link to make it easier for you to go right to any of these items if that is something you want to do.  In the meantime, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.  Have an awesome day and remember to do what makes you happy!

Birthday Haul

I have attached a link to my birthday haul - yep, I still celebrate birthdays!!!  Every year is a great year above ground, ya know!!!!  I received a lot of nice gifts this year from my husband and family and the majority of them were craft or art related this time, so I wanted to do a haul.  Also, again, practicing the video, editing, blogging aspect so that I can eventually actually make card videos too - something I would LOVE to do!!!  As you know, the crafts and artsy things are a new hobby for me - all related to the "art therapy" that I am doing to rehabilitate my arms and hands.  And, honestly, it just makes me happy!  And I always say, "Do what makes you happy"!!!!

Older video - (another test of sorts) - but also an explanation of talking, etc.

This is an older video - my first video for making cards - so please forgive my "newness"!!!  I wanted to still put it up as a learning experience if that is cool with you.

You have an awesome day!!!  Thanks for being here - you are amazing!
